Song of the day is "The Sinner's Cure" by Crowder. Some of the photos I'll be posting are from a dark time in my life. I was living it up, travelling the world and giving myself the best of everything. But I had no sense of purpose, no real connection with godly friends and mentors. So I'm not sure how my photos could depict that, but maybe think about that next time you see photos on Facebook. The person who took them needs Jesus, whether they're a believer or not. They have struggles, sins, needs, hopes and dreams that have been crushed, failures. They need the Sinner's Cure Crowder talks about. Not just nice scenery or food.
I'll move on to the Dominican Republic soon, but here are some photos of food and sights I enjoyed in mid-November 2018. During a stressful and sometimes boring time of military service, I'm able to reminisce thankfully on some things I really enjoyed.
Veteran's Day weekend at Texas Roadhouse in Eau Claire, WI, Nov 11th, 2018! Steak, mashed potatoes and Blue Crush lemonade.
Same day at Buffalo Wild Wings with a Small Boneless, Medium Buffalo sauce.
Same day and city at Dunkin Donuts, special creme-filled oreo topped donut.
Headline of NYT I saw at Starbucks that day. Very relatable for me.
Donkeys at the house of my friends from church.
Sheep from the same place. I really enjoyed the visit and hospitality.
Approaching Chicago (ORD Airport) from Lake Michigan on Nov 19th, 2018.
Downtown Chicago on November 10th, 2018.
Applebee's "Sweet Asian Chile" boneless wings (It should be Chili, because Chile is not in Asia, but that's the fault of Applebee's!). Nov 13th, 2018.
Famous Dave's Veteran's Day offer on Nov 12th, 2018. I think it's a two meat combo platter.
